How to get through a Monday

Mondays are the worst. You have just come from a weekend and now you have to prepare yourself for another long week. This can make it difficult to get anything done right. However, if you actually kick off your Mondays right you’ll find that your week will go a lot better. So here are a few tips on how you can survive the Mondays.

Wake up early

Waking up on time on a Monday morning can sometimes seem impossible. But, if you actually make the effort to wake up earlier than usual you’ll find that you have a lot more time to prepare for the day. You may even be able to make some coffee, watch the news and do some morning yoga.

Get a proper breakfast

Having a proper breakfast every morning is important if you want to kick it off your day in the right way. Skipping it will only make it that much harder. What’s even more important, for some of us, is to have some coffee with that breakfast. Making sure that you have a balanced meal and your regular cup of java will help you get through any day – especially Mondays.

Plan your Mondays

For many of us, Monday’s can be very stressful because all our important tasks will be planned for that day. Rather than putting all your important work and meetings for the start of the week, why not spread them out? This way you won’t dread Monday’s as much because you won’t be drowning in so much work.

Play your favourite music

Having your favourite band playing on your way to work can have a huge impact on your mood for the rest of the day. So just by starting off your morning with your favourite songs playing in the car or while you make breakfast can put you in a positive mind frame and boost your energy.

Take small breaks

If Mondays are very stressful you should take small breaks throughout the day. Make sure that you don’t stay attached to your desk by going on short walks and maybe doing some meditation. A 10-minute walk through a nearby park will help you get some fresh air and lift your mood.

Sure, not all of us look forward to the start of the week. But if you feel as if you’re not dealing with it as well as you should, why not try some of these tips to lift your spirits. Soon enough you may even look at Mondays as something to look forward to.
